This project is somewhat on hold as I could not get over to Hawai’i as planed this year. I grew up on Lana’i (1969-1970) and Oah’u (1970-1973) and moved back as an adult to the Big Island in 1981 to 1982; then again in 1986 to 1987 I lived on Maui. I have lived over 8 years in the Islands - that is about as long as I lived in India.

The problem when you live and grow up in the Islands is that they stay in your blood. I was 13 years old when my family moved to Lanai and the light, air, color, water and Aloha of Hawaii became a part of my haole blood. What to do. I would like to work with existing organic farmers on the Big Island and help islands like Lanai and Molokai get back into organic agriculture - to develop economic independence.

Contact me if you are interested to help in this.

My next trip there is planned for January 2014. We will begin the process of buying land there, or helping local farmers, or both, to grow what we need to sustain medicinal plants.

Update June 2014 - Very interesting contacts made on the Big Island and few other places in January and February this year. Again the same as with Chile it is necessary to further evaluate the cost effectiveness of shipping to Europe. Many interesting projects going on there so we will see.

Update July 2015 - have two growers - one on Big Island and another on Kaua’i so ready to move forward with production. More on this later, very positive developments.

Updated Sept 2016 - like all of the USA this is on hold for now. Hopefully I will get it going in 2017 or 2018.
